Delivery & Shipping

How long does delivery take?

Once your order has been confirmed as PAID by email, items are normally delivered within 7 working days within the UK, and 7 to 10 working days to Ireland and other EU countries.

We do our very best to have your goods dispatched to you as quickly as possible, but we do rely on third party delivery companies and any delay incurred by them is out of our control. On the rare occasion that the wheels do “fall off the bus” or in this case, the delivery truck, we work closely with our couriers to have your order back on track as quickly as possible.

Who delivers my purchase?

All our goods are delivered by Fedex or UPS and they are Insured.

Can I have my order delivered to any address?

Sadly, no. For security reasons we only deliver to the billing address of the credit card used to make the payment. If you need our help on a delivery issue, please call us, we will do everything we can to find a solution.

Will I have to sign for my delivery?

Yes, all deliveries will need to be signed for. We know it can be frustrating but it helps to protect everyone and finalises the dispatch process.

Can I have something delivered on a Saturday?

Yes! We can arrange for items to be delivered on a Saturday, but the postage will cost more, so call us on 01547 520 996 before ordering and we can talk it through with you.

Delivery charges Mon-Fri:

  • Insured delivery in the UK is free for all purchases under £75.00
  • For orders between £75.00 and £250.00, insured delivery within the UK is £4.99
  • For orders £250.00 and over, insured delivery within the UK is £9.99
  • For orders to Ireland and the European Union delivery is £20.00.
  • Please ensure that your shipping address details are correct. Orders with incorrect or missing information will cause delays.

 

Warranty & Returns:

Are my products covered under warranty?

Yes. All products come with a 12 month warranty. All you need to do is to retain your invoice.

Some of our products automatically have 2 or even 3 year UK warranty's and this is shown on each applicable product.

Can I buy an extended warranty?        

Yes. A 1 year extended warranty is available for any camera. The maximum warranty period we offer is 3 years but check when you purchase as some of our products already include this as standard. If it doesn’t and you would like an extended warranty, just select it at checkout and it will automatically be added to the camera you purchase. Costs are as follows:

What happens if I change my mind?

We know that sometimes this happens and of course you have some options:

1. Cancel before goods are dispatched. If you purchase and change your mind before we have dispatched the goods we can arrange for an immediate refund back onto the credit card you made the original purchase with.

2. Cancel after receipt. If the camera has already been dispatched or you receive it and change your mind, you have 7 days to cancel. It goes without saying that we need to have the goods returned to us in their original condition, unopened, undamaged, in full working order and suitable for immediate re-sale as new. As soon as we have the goods back in as new condition, you will receive a full refund onto the credit card you made the original purchase with.

 If there is an unreasonable delay in the dispatch of your camera, it may be best for both parties if we cancel your order. We will contact you and discuss the options open to you before cancelling.

Of if there is a fault?

Similarly, should your product develop a fault within 7 days of receipt, we will offer a full refund or replacement, whichever you prefer. We also reimburse you for the postage!

Beyond the 7 day period and providing it is still within the warranty period, the product would be sent to our authorised UK repair centre. As long as there is no evidence of misuse, the necessary repair would be carried out free of charge under the warranty.

In the unlikely event of a fault, call the sales office first on 01547 520 996 and they can guide you through the process.

Payment Methods:

Credit card:

We accept the following credit cards from UK banking institutions only.

Visacard, Mastercard and unlike many on line retailers we don’t charge you the processing fee. We do not accept Amex or Diners.

Credit card payments are acceptable for UK deliveries only.

If you do not have a UK Credit card, you can pay by Bank transfer, just call us for details.

Debit card:

We accept the following debit cards from UK banking institutions only.

Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Debit Mastercard and Maestro.

Debit card payments are acceptable for Uk deliveries only.

If you do not have a UK Debit card, you can pay by Bank transfer, just call us for details.

Bank Transfer

We are happy to take payment by bank transfer. All orders shipped outside of the UK must be paid by bank transfer. Please call the office on +44 (0) 1547 520 996 or email them on sales@portusdigital.com and they will guide you through this process.

What happens when I pay by Debit or Credit card?

We take your card security seriously, which is why we support Verified by Visa and Mastercard Secure.

When you choose to pay by credit or debit card you will be automatically transferred at the checkout to the HSBC Realex payment page.

Once you enter your card details, your payment is recognised by your card issuer direct. It’s important to understand that, at this point and for security, you are now in communication with your card issuer.

If you have previously registered it, you will automatically be prompted by that issuer to enter information including your secure code or phrase, this phrase is known only to you.

This additional security enables you to authenticate yourself with your card issuer before the payment is authorised. If an incorrect code is entered the payment will fail.

If everything matches with the details you have already supplied to your card issuer, you will then receive confirmation of your secure payment.

It’s also at this stage that confirmation of your secure payment reaches us and your order is acknowledged.

Mastercard research has confirmed “that 44% of consumers indicated having SecureCode would increase their likelihood of buying more online. And, 49% said they would use a card enrolled in SecureCode more often than another card for online purchases”.

How secure is my payment?

VERY! Rest assured, when you make an on-line credit card purchase, your personal data and payment details are SSL 128BIT encrypted. (SSL is a Secure Sockets Layer that provides security in transferring data over the Internet, by creating a layer of encryption between the server and customer).

We also ensure all on-line transactions are 3D Secure with Extended Validation (EV) provided by GeoTrustenabling the highest level of security for your on-line purchase.

Is my purchase eligible for a Cashback promotion?

We should point out that some manufacturers occasionally run cashback offers and other special promotions. These are typically limited to the more expensive high street retailers. It is therefore best to assume that Portus Digital products do not qualify for these, unless specifically indicated otherwise.    

How do I change my personal details?

Easy! Just log into your account by clicking on the “log-in” link in the top right hand corner of our site,

update what you need and save it.

Do you keep my personal information?

You may only order goods from the Portus Digital website if you are aged 18 or over. As a condition of purchase, you must supply your e-mail address and phone number and we will store this information in confidence under the terms of the Data Protection Act.

Why do your prices change?

Well, the short answer is we like to stay relevant and competitive! 

Manufacturer prices can change and we work hard to secure our products for you at the best possible price at all times. To do this, we always review our pricing and adjust where necessary. It also means that we can only guarantee the price you pay at the time of purchase. Similarly, we have no obligation to honour a previous price that may have been displayed in a period before your purchase was made. Look out for our price held lines and in these instances you will know when the price is going to change.

What about tax & duty?

The total on your invoice includes applicable taxes & charges.  

And your products?

Naturally we also introduce new lines and remove old lines as they become obsolete. Our products are imported from various sources around the world. When you buy a product on our site you recognise that Portus Digital is sourcing the product on your behalf and making it available for you to import directly from the country of origin.
